Errors when using Vista

Issue

Customer will get an error such as this: 

Attempting to Start Framemaker communication....
[Error] Error communicating with Adobe Framemaker.
[Error] Value cannot be null Parameter name: serviceInstance

Solution

On Vista,

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel -> User Accounts

  2. Navigate to 'Turn User Account Control on or off'
  3. Turn this off for the 2 programs to communicate with each other
