Tuesday night's Open House brought DeLayne Hudspeth of Lambda Retirement Community, Inc. to WebWorks.com.
Lambda Retirement Community is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization. DeLayne's work there focuses on "Aging at Home", enabling seniors, retirees and their supporters lead productive, satisfied lives as they prepare for and enter retirement.
We started off talking about XML and how it could be used to to assist in DeLayne work. We moved on to exploring ways his organization can use existing web services such as Twitter and FaceBook with off-the-shelf smart phones to maintain community among the elderly.
It was a great discussion and one of the surprises that seems to happen every few months when we take a moment and throw open our doors to the community.
