How to create editable MediaWiki code?

Summary

I am creating MediaWiki pages from Framemaker (unstructured). Using the default conversion produces wiki code that is mostly HTML with detailed style attributes on each div and span. This is very hard to edit.

Detailed Description

Does anyone have any advice on best practices to make the output MediaWiki code as editable as possible? Lots of wiki code, HTML using stylesheets instead of detailed style attributes, etc.

We are using MediaWiki over a HTML format because it is editable. But the generated code is very hard to read/write. Any tips?

BenAllums   In an attempt to replicate much of the source content, the MediaWiki format leverages HTML formatting.  You can use the Style Designer to turn off a large part of that formatting.  Further changes would require modifying 'content.xsl' to remove HTML element tags.  You can drop by Study Hall to ask questions on how to do this.  You can learn more about Study Hall here:
