Disable some paragraph styles in PDF target

Summary

Require the ability to exclude the output of some paragraph styles in the PDF target while including them in other target outputs.

Detailed Description

Single-sourced PDF/Help projects frequently contain some paragraph styles that we want to exclude in one target but not the others. For example, Related Topic lists which are required in Help but not in the PDF.

At present, you can Disable paragraph styles in WWHelp and other Help targets, but this cannot be done in the PDF target.

Conditions can be used, but in bigger projects (400 to 2000 A4 pages), this is extremely time consuming. A FrameScript could also be written to apply the condition, but in the present financial climate we don't have the dough.

WendyLarive   Along these same lines, we would like to see Quadralay add an "Un-link from global style" option in the Style Designer.
The question was asked: Is there a way to set different style options for multiple Targets (that are in the same project) within the Style Designer?

For example, I have Microsoft HTML Help, WebWorks Help, and PDF targets in a project. With the Microsoft HTML Help target active, I want to set my Index heading style in the Style Designer to have a Table of Contents level set to "None". But when I change my active target to PDF, the Index heading style is also changed to "None"; in this case, I want the Index style to have a Table of Contents level set to "1" so it appears as a PDF bookmark.

The advice to work around this by having a duplicate source document with a style called Index_Heading_PDF defeats the purpose of single-sourcing.
