Boot Camp Session

10/19: Wiki Publishing: Ben

From an earlier panel session: We may want to rethink using mediawiki at STScI-- Confluence or MoinMoin?

MoinMoin

In the paragraph style settings there are wiki specific setups (e.g., heading levels) that I do not see in the mediawiki target. You do need a moinmoin server. How are image and equations handled?

Easier to set up and control access to areas on the wiki (compared to mediawiki)

Deployment Target setup

Confluence

The pages have access to a TOC and have breadcrumbs. Tables and images? If one wanted to make changes, do you have to know markup?

I believe having users to know markup is a big obstacle to wiki use.
