Wingdings and Symbol fonts not coming out correctly in PDF
Issue
Customer has several special characters in our documents that use either the Wingdings or Symbol character sets, and they do not come out correctly in the PDF's produced by ePublisher.
Solution
This behavior is occurring because the Ghostscript engine, which ePublisher uses by default, doesn't support the Wingdings and Symbol fonts. We recommend that you set your project up to use the Acrobat Distiller for creating the PDFs. To do this:
Open Target Settings (Target > Target Settings).
- In the section labeled "PDF", add the document extension ".fm" to the field labeled "Acrobat Distiller - Use for document extensions".
- Regenerate output.
