Using Pass-through Conditions
Often, you may want to add special formatting or features to your helpset, such as your own JavaScript applet or an embedded media file. For this kind of behavior, you can use pass-through conditions to force the help viewer to execute the code literally instead of displaying it as plain text.

With pass-through conditions, you can:
Add a page counter
Add a survey or poll
Embed media files
Add special hyperlinks
Problems you may run into with pass-through conditions:
Hyperlinks return "Page not found" error
Both FrameMaker and Word insert "smart quotes" in place of regular, straight quotes by default. A web browser requires the straight quotes to properly define attributes in an anchor (or any other) tag. To remedy this problem, see your authoring product's documentation to find out how to disable smart quote autoformatting as you type.
