Microsoft HTML Help Error Message

Issue

User is getting a message like this in the log:

The HTML tag "..." is not a valid HTML tag (it does not begin with an alphanumeric character).

Solution

This is occurring because the output directory has a character other than an alphanumeric character, for example:

c:\Users\firstname.lastname\Documents\ePublisher Express Projects\Test\Output\Microsoft HTML HelpCHM\Test.chm

You will need to change this to a directory in the Target Settings under "Generated output location". or change the name of the directory to something that is alpha-numeric.
